That was my exact state of mind when trying to acquire clients for my new consultancy. Overcoming imposter syndrome seemed insurmountable at the time as I agonized daily about not having depth of knowledge in one field. One late evening, well after midnight and everyone was asleep, I lit a candle while drafting another business strategy and realized something: I was in flow. For hours.
Instantaneously, I began to research the benefits of aromatherapy. Days later, my consultancy was closed and my candle business was open.

After co-founding her first venture, Blue Dynasty Entertainment and Travel, with her grandmother in 2007, Shantell Lanique immersed herself in the world of entrepreneurship – and pursued an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Simmons College.
Lanique + Co is a solo venture dedicated to supporting the lifestyle of the entrepreneur. As a graduate of Hampton University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), Shantell Lanique desires to create a startup accelerator for HBCU graduates seeking to become entrepreneurs.
